Oppo has launched it's budget smartphone,Oppo Neo at price of Rs.11,990 in order to compete with Motorola's Moto G.Oppo has not revealed the availability of the device but has told it will be available soon.The company had recently entered the Indian market with it's flagship device,Oppo N1 at whopping price of Rs.39,999.
The Neo comes with mediocre 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) IPS LCD display and comes with rather low 217 PPI and is able to even detect touch input if the user is wearing gloves.With the gloves mode on,users can also use nails to operate the device.It is powered by a 1.3 GHz unspecified quad-core processor along with 512 MB of RAM which is pretty low for a device at this price point.It has 5-megapixel rear camera without an LED flash while there is a 2-megapixel camera present on the front.It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Oppo's own Color OS and comes in 4 GB on internal storage which can be further expanded upto 32 GB.The device comes with 1,900 mAh of battery and weighs 130 g.Oppo has not yet revealed other specs for the device.
Oppo has put some features to make the device unique like Quick Reach which is off-screen gesture which can be used to open a set of applications.Like for example one can draw a circle while the screen is off to t open the camera and can double tap to wake up the screen.With help of the Gesture Panel,users can set different gesture for different apps.
The Oppo Neo will compete directly with the Moto G which comes with a 4.5-inch 720p HD screen,1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor,5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and Android 4.4 Kit-Kat and is priced at Rs.12,499 for the 8 GB variant.What do you think of the Neo?
