Samsung Galaxy S5 with fingerprint scanner announced at the MWC

Samsung has finally announced the much awaited Galaxy S5 at the MWC in Barcelona.The phone has similar specs to last year's Galaxy S4 but packs in features which could surprise some people (not many).
As for the specs, the Galaxy S5 comes with 5.1-inch Full-HD Super AMOLED display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and comes with pixel density of 432 PPI.The display has received a slight bumped but still has the same resolution of the Galaxy S4.The device also comes with Adapt display feature which analyses incoming lights and the contents you're viewing and automatically optimizes the colour range, saturation, and sharpness of the display.It is powered by 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor which is a major bump from last year 1.9 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor but still has the 2 GB of RAM found in the S4.It comes with 16 and 32 GB storage variants which is expandable upto whopping 128 GB via micro SD card.It comes with 2,800 mAh of battery which provides upto 21 hours of talk-time and comes with a Ultra Power Saving mode which turns the display to black and white and shuts down all unnecessary features to minimize the battery consumption.The device comes with NFC and IR blaster which can be used to operate Television sets and many more.It comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/c MIMO and claims to deliver the fastest speeds.The S5 comes with a Download booster which boosts the download speed by using Wi-Fi and LTE simultaneously

The phone soft-touch plastic back comes with perforated pattern which the company says gives it a 'modern glam look' and is very similar to the one found in the Google Nexus 7 2012 variant.

The device comes with 16-megapixel rear camera which is major bump from last year's 13-megapixel and come with LED flash and autofocus.The camera can record 4K videos and comes with real-time HDR for better photos in natural light.Samsung claims that the Galaxy S5 comes with world's fastest autofocus speed of upto 0.3 seconds.Another interesting feature on the S5 is it's Selective focus which lets users to focus on a specific area of an object while simultaneously blurring out the background.The S5 also comes with 2-megapixel front camera for video calls.

The Galaxy S5 as it comes with a heart rate sensor which allows users to measure their heart rate by simply keeping the finger next to the LED flash on the back of the S5.The device comes with the latest version of the S health app which lets users set their goals and achieve them with help of pedometer and also allows users to track their health condition,walking distance,calories,speed,duration and more.

Just like Sony's flagship devices,the S5 is also water and dust resistant with IP67 rating meaning it can be submerged in 3 feet of water for a period of 30 minutes.

The S5 also comes with a fingerprint scanner under the home button and can be used to unlock the phone and make payments using Paypal similar to the iPhone 5S.Unlike the fingerprint scanner found in the iPhone 5S which requires users to press their finger on the home button to be activated,the found in the S5 requires the users to swipe vertical across the home button to activate.

The device runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 Kit-Kat and comes with Samsung's latest TouchWiz UI which is minimalist look with round flat icons and is very similar to iOS 7.Samsung has also added features like Kids mode which allows users to restrict access to features and apps while handing over the device to kids.

The Galaxy S5 will be available worldwide on April 11 in charcoal Black, shimmery White, electric Blue and copper Gold colors.The pricing has not been revealed by Samsung but it is expected to be around rupee 45,000.What do you think of the Galaxy S5?
