Xiaomi Redmi 3 with Snapdragon 616 and 4100 mAh battery launched in China

Xiaomi has officially launched it's latest budget offering,the Redmi 3 after releasing a teaser last week.The device is priced at ¥699 (approximately Rs.7,100).The company also said that it will reveal it's next flagship,Mi-5 in February this year.


The smartphone boasts an all-metal unibody,as revealed earlier and a textured back panel which is expected to improve grip.The company says the cover is "inspired by the stars in night sky".The phone will be available in stylish gold, dark gray or metallic and classic gold colors.

Coming on the display,the Redmi 3 comes with a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and pixel density of 294 PPI.The smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 alongside 2 GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.

The handset comes with 16 GB of internal storage,expandable upto 128 GB via micro SD card (hybrid dual-SIM slot that supports one micro-SIM card and one nano-SIM card or a micro-SD card).The phone runs on the company's own MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.


On the optics front,the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED-flash,f/2.0 aperture,PDAF auto focus and 1080p video recording.There's a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies.

The highlight of this smartphone is it's mammoth non-removable 4100 mAh battery which is 50% more than it's predecessor.For connectivity,the Redmi 3 comes with 4G LTE support,GPS,Bluetooth,Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
