The glasses are available in four vibrant colors: Charcoal, Tangerine, Shale, Cotton, Sky.
The best thing is that the glasses show info without lifting a finger The device works by voice commands like "Ok glass, take a picture" or "Ok glass, record a video". The device activates when the user speaks, touches the frame or moves head. The device can take pictures, record a video, search info on Google, show directions. The Glasses connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
Google also has launched a promotional Video to show the features of the glasses. But for people looking at people wearing these glasses, the view is even stranger. It looks like someone wearing a computer processor, a battery and a tiny screen on her face.
Google will is giving a early version of the glasses to contest winners for $1500.Applicants have to write the hash tag #ifhadglasses. Google has told that the application has to be 50 words or less and applicants have to include 5 photos and a video (15 secs max) and they must be at least 18 years older and live in the U.S. The deadline for applications is February 27th and if you are chosen, Google send you a invitation to become a glass explorer and you have to attend a special pick-up experience, in person, in New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles.
The company has said that the retail version will cost less than $1500 but more than a smartphone. But, As other companies such as Apple, Nike, Pebble will start to manufacture wearable tech and challenge Google.Will Google manufacture glasses with lenses?, Will it encourage people towards wearable tech?
