Alcatel has announced it's new pair of tablets adding to it's Pop lineup of devices.These are budget devices aimed at first time tablet buyers.Both the tablets have made their debut at CES held currently in Las Vegas.As from the headlines you can know that both are 7 and 8-inch tablets.
The first is Pop 7 that comes with a 7-inch TFT screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600,1.3 GHz dual-core MT8312 coupled with 1 GB of RAM.It sports 2-megapixel camera on the rear along with 0.3-megapixel front camera.It has 4 GB of internal storage with only 2.4 GB available to the user which can be expanded upto 32 GB via micro SD card.It offers Wi-Fi,GPS along with 3G on the connectivity side.It also has a optional IR blaster.It comes with ts 3,240mAh of battery that offers up to 70 hours of life with Wi-Fi and 3G switched to on and up to 360 hours with both of them turned off.
The next is the Pop 8 with some slightly better specs as it has an 8-inch 720p IPS display and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MT8382.It is comes with 1 GB of RAM and has 4 GB of internal storage with again 2.4 GB available to user which can be expanded upto 64 GB via micro SD card.It too sports 2-megapixel camera on the rear along with 0.3-megapixel front camera.Battery life is claimed to last for up to 140 hours with everything switched on due to the larger 4,100 mAh battery.
Both the tablets run Android 4.2.2 with some slight customizations.Alcatel has also announced some colorful flip covers and protective case for both the devices.Both tablets will be available in the EMEA region in Q1 2014, at €149 (Rs.12,631) for the 3G variant Pop 7 and €199 (Rs.16,869) for the 3G enabled Pop 8.As you can see the Pop 8 is the better buy here.
