LG G Flex with curved display comes to India at price of Rs.69,990

LG had announced back in December that their curved screen smartphone,LG G Flex would be available in India in February. Now the price of the device has been listed on Snapdeal.com for Rs.69,990 making it one of the expensive Android smartphone available today.According to the site, the phone will be dispatched in 15 business days. While the best buy price of the device is said to be Rs.66,900.

The G Flex comes with a 6-inch curved 720p HD Plastic OLED (POLED) display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.According to LG the display found in the G Flex is the world's largest POLED display developed and mass produced specifically for smartphones.

The device comes with 'self healing' protective film on the back which means the phone will heal itself automatically against minor scratches and bumps so that your device keeps looking new even longer. The G Flex is powered by a 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 along-with 2 GB of RAM.The device runs on the outdated Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which LG should have atleast upgraded to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The device comes with a 13-megapixel rear shooter that comes with Auto focus,BSI and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) while a 2.1-megapixel is present on the front for making video calls. The device borrows rear-mounted volume and power buttons from it's predecessor,LG G2.

The device runs on LG's own UI on the top which includes features like: QTheater,Dual window,Swing lockscreen,Face detection indicator among others. The device comes with 32 GB of internal storage which is non-expandable.The device has 3,500 mAh curved battery which according to LG reduces the physical stress on the battery pack when in the curved form and provides better stability and performance.

The device will face tough competition from Samsung's curved screen Galaxy Round which is the first phone in the world to come with curve display and is expected to arrive soon in India. While the price may not be effective on consumers as other companies offer better specs or relatively same specs if you don't need a curved screen at much lower price.Only time can tell whether LG or Samsung will rule the curved display smartphone market. What do you think of the price? Are you going to buy the device?
