LG has made official it's much teased and anticipated device, the LG G2 mini which is a 'mini' version of it's flagship G2 which was launched back in 2013.LG has said earlier that device would be launched at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) which is to held in few days but LG seems to have spilled the beans.
As for the specs the G2 mini sports a 4.7-inch qHD IPS display with rather low resolution of 960 x 540 pixels not 720p as it was rumored earlier.LG should have atleast provided a 720p display as the G2 comes with 1080p one and qHD display is major gap between the two.It also borrows the rear volume and power buttons from the G2.The device runs on the latest Android 4.4 Kit-Kat out-of-the-box which comes with LG's Optimus UIon the top and has features like Plug and Pop,Guest mode which allows users to restrict some of the features for guests,Clip Tray and Quick Window which is LG's answer to Samsung's Multi Window. The G2 will come with 8 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded upto 64 GB via micro SD card.It comes with 2,400 mAh of battery which is removable.
The device will come with different specs for different markets like the Latin America LTE variant will come with a 1.7 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4i processor and 13-megapixel with LED flash while the LTE and 3G variant will come with 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash.Only the 4G LTE variant will support NFC for connectivity. All the variants of the G2 mini will come with 1 GB of RAM and 1.3-megapixel front camera.
The the rollout of the device will begin in March with the 3G dual-SIM hitting Russia soon followed by Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Europe in April.LG has not announced the pricing of the device and is expected to announce it at the MWC.It will be available in Titan Black, Lunar White, Red, Gold colors. What do you think of the G2 mini?
