Sony launches the Xperia Z1 Compact in India at Rs.36,990

Sony has launched it's much awaited 'mini' smartphone in India,Xperia Z1 at not-so-mini price of
rupee 36,900.The company has listed the smartphone on it's website but without any availability date in India.The device was unveiled at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last month alongside the Xperia Z1S which is a T-Mobile in U.S.

It sports a 4.3-inch HD Triluminous display with X-Reality for Mobile and comes with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which gives it around 320 PPI.It is powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM much like it's elder sibling Xperia Z1.It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and comes with 16 GB of internal storage expandable upto 64 GB via micro SD card.It comes with 2,300 mAh of battery and comes with Sony's STAMINA mode which turns of unnecessary functions to improve battery life. 

The highlight of the Xperia Z1 Compact is the same 20.7-megapixel rear camera Exmor RS sensor along with BIONZ image processing with LED flash also found in it's bigger sibling Xperia Z1.It also comes with 2-megapixel front camera which records 1080p videos.Just like other flagship Sony devices the Z1 Compact is also waterproof with IP55 and IP58 rating and dust-resistant with IP55 rating.The device is available in White,Pink,Lime and Black colors.

Sony has done a great job by launching the Xperia Z1 Compact in India at price lower than the competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini,HTC One mini and the upcoming LG G2 mini.Usually manufacturers offer their mini devices with downgraded specs.What do you think of the Xperia Z1 Compact?
