After many rumor,leaks and teasers,Nokia has finally unveiled it's trio of Android smartphones with Microsoft services which include the Nokia X,X+ and XL
All the three devices run on highly customized or forked version of Android (which the company calls the Nokia X platform) just like Amazon's OS on the Kindle Fire with no access to Google Play store.Nokia has provided it's own store instead of the Play store .The company says that the devices run 75% of Android apps and users can side-load apps from any third party source.Nokia has used the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) which corresponds to Android 4.1 Jelly-Bean.The devices have a UI similar to Windows Phone with Live Tiles and come with Fastlane found in Nokia's entry level Asha smartphones.
All the three devices come with free 7 GB of free cloud storage from Microsoft's OneDrive and one month of free Skype calls (in selected markets).The devices come preloaded with Nokia's Here Maps with access to offline maps and turn-by-turn navigation and Nokia MixRadio with free music streaming.Apps such as BBM,Twitter,Viber,Vine,Foodpanda and Swiftkey (for free) will be available for the Nokia X platform.
The Nokia X will be available for sale immediately at price tag of EUR 89 exactly 7,531 in Asia-Pacific, Europe, India, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa while the Nokia X+ and XL are expected to roll out in these markets starting early second quarter and will be priced at EUR 99 exactly 8,378 and EUR 109 exactly 9,224 respectively.What do you think of these devices? The Nokia X and X+ come with are dual-SIM phones and come with 4-inch WVGA LCD display with resolution 800 x 400 pixels and boast of 233 PPI.Both the devices are powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and come with 4 GB of internal storage which is further expandable upto 32 GB via micro SD card.The Nokia X comes with 512 MB of RAM while the X+ comes with larger 768 MB of RAM.Both the devices come with 3-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera but miss on front facing camera.They come with 1,500 mAh of battery which give upto 13.3 hours of talk-time
