Samsung has finally launched it's latest flagship smartphone,Galaxy S5 in India.Samsung has not revealed the exact price of the device but the company has said that the S5 would be priced between ₹ 51,000 and ₹ 53,000.The device will be available from April 11 and users can pre-order it from March 29 at price of ₹ 1,500.
The company has also partnered with Airtel to offer free 3G data to consumers who buy the device alongwith a new Airtel connection.On postpaid, customers can get 1GB of free 3G data per month for 6 months on select Airtel myPlans while on prepaid, they can enjoy 2GB of free 3G data per month for 2 months on all packs.Existing Airtel customers can also avail these offers.While in non 3G circles, customers can enjoy these offers on 2G data.
Unlike the international variant which is powered by 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor.The Indian variant is powered by Exynos 5422 (1.9 GHz Cortex A15 + 1.3 GHz Cortex A7) processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM.Samsung has confirmed that octa-core variant will offer only 3G connectivity and no 4G LTE like the Snapdragon 801 powered variant.The company has said that it may launch the 4G variant in India once the availability of 4G spreads over the country.
The highlight of the S5 is it's fingerprint scanner on the home button which can be used to unlock the device and make transactions via Paypal.Another interesting feature is it's heart rate sensor which allows users to measure their heart rate by simply keeping the finger next to the LED flash on the back of the S5.
The company also launched three new smartwatches include Gear 2,Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit.The Galaxy Gear 2 is priced at ₹ 21,000 while the Galaxy Gear 2 Neo and Galaxy Gear Fit is priced at ₹ 15,900 each.All the three wearable devices will be available from April 11.

The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo is capable of being a fitness tracker and can measure exercise, sleep and stress levels.The Gear 2 Neo has almost the same features as the Gear 2 but it does not come with a camera and a metal body.Both the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo can last upto 2 to 3 days on typical usage while on low usage it can last till 6 days.Also both the smartwatches run on Tizen OS instead of Android.
While the Galaxy Gear Fit is Samsung's first smartwatch with curved 1.84-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 432 x 128 pixels.The Gear Fit is a fitness tracker as it comes with a pedometer, heart rate monitor, and a sleep
monitor.Users will also get notifications on the Fit which includes SMS,Calls,Emails and Apps.It is also water and dust resistant with IP67 rating and can last upto 3 to 4 days on typical usage while low usage will result upto 5 days of usage.
